Creada en 1991 por Peter Freudenthaler (voz) y Volker Hinkel (guitarras) bajo el nombre Fool’s Garden.
Debutaron en 1991 con el disco Fool’s Garden, dedicado a John Lennon.
Es el primer disco donde Peter y Volker cantan la primera voz por igual.
El segundo y último seria el disco de 1993, Once in a blue moon. En esta placa aparece un cover de la canción “Cry Baby Cry” de The Beatles.
Dos años después editaron el disco Dish of the day, logrando éxito masivo en Europa y Asia con el sencillo “Lemon Tree”.
En 1997 sale el disco Go and ask Peggy for the principal thing, el cual contiene nuevamente un cover de The Beatles, esta vez del tema “Martha my dear”.
En 2009, editan un álbum recopilatorio de sus mejores temas, llamado Hig times - The best of Fools Garden, que incluye un tema inédito.
La banda ha tomado la costumbre de hacer covers de clásicos rock 'n' roll durante sus presentaciones en vivo (por ejemplo Ticket to Ride de The Beatles, o My Generation de The Who).
El interes de Fools Garden en la música británica es tan grande que se pueden encontrar en sus álbumes de estudio versiones de canciones de The Beatles: Cry Baby Cry y Martha My Dear.
A pesar que la cancion favorita de muchos es Lemon Tree para mi es Reason.
